I am finally back! My only excuse for being MIA for almost three months is that this semester was CRAZY.. Between classes and homework I barely had a life! But I made it, and now I have more pictures and experiences to share with you guys. I am going home for the summer, and I could not be more excited. I’m actually writing this post in the airport because I had to get out of the dorms at 9am, so I have been here for a little more than seven hours. Crazy day, but now I’m finally relaxing and just waiting for my flight.
Anyway, the picture above is from one of the projects for my Photoshop class. We had to research a brand, in this case Marni, and come up with a magazine cover that would fit their customer.
Por fin volví! Mi única excusa para estar perdida por casi tres meses es que este semestre fue realmente una LOCURA… Entre clases y tareas prácticamente no he tenido vida! Pero ya terminó y ahora tengo más fotos y experiencias que postear aquí. Regreso a Lima por el verano y estoy más que emocionada! Ahorita justo estoy en el aeropuerto porque tuve que dejar los dorms a las 9am, así que ya llevo un poco más de siete horas esperando. Pero bueno, después de un día loco por fin estoy tranquila esperando la hora para ir a la sala de embarque.
La imagen es parte de un proyecto para mi clase de Photoshop. La idea era investigar una marca, en este caso Marni, y crear la portada de una revista que encaje con su cliente.
Draping jacket: done! I’m so lucky I don’t have any homework for that class this week, but I will still be sewing day and night. I’m making a pair of pants for sewing, and a dolman sleeve top for Flat Pattern. More pictures soon!

I wanted to live in New York ever since I can remember, but it wasn’t easy getting here, or even going through the first few months. I struggle sometimes, or actually, I still struggle A LOT, but I wouldn’t be able to overcome all these without my family and friends. Their love and support have helped me stay on track even before moving here, so what a better way to celebrate my birthday than with them! It was a fun and relaxing weekend, just what I needed after these past couple of stressful weeks!
He querido vivir en Nueva York desde que era chiquita, pero no fue fácil llegar hasta acá, y mucho menos los primeros meses después de mudarme. Todavía no me acostumbro del todo y me cuesta un montón, pero no podría seguir sin el apoyo de mi familia y mis amigos. Ellos son los que me ayudan a mantenerme cuerda y con los ojos en la meta, incluso antes de mudarme. Por eso decidí irme a pasar mi santo con ellos, y fue justo el fin de semana perfecto, lo que necesitaba después de unas semanas tan estresantes como las últimas!
View from the High Line. Everyone in my class kept talking about this place, so I decided to go with a friend who was just as clueless me. It’s actually a “park in the sky”, like some people call it, and it was a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Vista desde the High Line. Todos en mi clase hablaban de este lugar, así que fui con una amiga que tampoco lo conocía. Es como un “parque en el aire”, como algunos le dicen, y fue un plan diferente y divertido para un sábado.

I’m studying Fashion Design at FIT. I’m having so much fun! It’s way better than first semester, much more creative. And it’s so cool you took classes at Parsons, I wanted to go there when I was younger!
Some sketches for my customer profile for Draping class. Basically, we had to do a market research depending on our customer’s characteristics, such as style, job, income, hobbies, etc., and find jackets/coats according to them. I decided to go to Saks to do this because they have most high end designer clothes there. I was a little nervous at first because I had to pretend I was going to buy all those things, and I wasn’t sure they believed me. After a while, I just got into character and ended up having so much fun!
Algunos figurines para el customer profile para Draping. Tuvimos que hacer un estudio de mercado dependiendo de las características de nuestro cliente (estilo, trabajo, sueldo, hobbies, etc.) y buscar casacas/sacos de acuerdo a eso. Fui a Saks porque ahí tienen casi todos los diseñadores que quería ver. Al comienzo estaba un poco nerviosa porque tuve que pretender que iba a comprar todo lo que me probaba, y no estaba segura si me creían. Después de un rato me metí en mi personaje y terminó siendo super divertido!
